Privacy Policy for AmanahKit

1. Overview

AmanahKit is an offline-first Android app that helps small businesses keep a digital shop diary (khata): business profiles, people/customers, sales, payments, expenses, loans, amanah, PDF slips, and local backup.

We do not operate a cloud account for AmanahKit. Your business and ledger data is stored on your device. The app does not require internet access to function, and the current app build does not declare internet networking permission for uploading your ledger to our servers.

2. Information we process

2.1 Information you enter (stored on your device)

You may enter and store:

This data stays in local storage on the device (for example Room database, preferences, and local image/PDF/backup files).

2.2 Information we do not collect on our servers

We do not collect, through AmanahKit's own services:

• Account emails or passwords for AmanahKit cloud login (the app has no cloud login)
• Location history
• Advertising IDs for ads targeting
• Analytics events sent to us
• Crash reports sent to us (unless you later add a third-party SDK; update this policy if you do)

2.3 Device permissions (on-device features only)

Depending on Android version and your choices, AmanahKit may request or use:

• Notifications: due-date and amanah reminders
• Exact alarms / boot completed / wake lock / vibrate / full-screen intent: so reminders can fire reliably after reboot or at scheduled times
• Access to files you choose: e.g. importing a backup or picking an image for a logo (via the system picker), and exporting/sharing files you create

These permissions are used for local app features, not to upload your ledger to us.

3. How information is used

Data you enter is used only to:

• Run the app on your device (ledgers, balances, analytics screens computed locally)
• Generate PDF slips and cash-flow statements on device
• Schedule local reminders you configure
• Create local backups you export
• Personalize language, theme, and trade/invoice templates

We do not sell your personal or business data.

4. Sharing with others

4.1 You control sharing

If you use Share (for example PDF receipt, statement, or backup file), Android's share sheet lets you send that file to apps you choose (WhatsApp, email, Drive, etc.). Those apps have their own privacy policies. We do not receive that shared content unless you deliberately send it to us (for example support email).

4.2 Backup export / import

Backup creates a local file that can include business details, customers, and records. Anyone who obtains that file can read its contents. Keep backups secure. Import only from trusted files.

4.3 Device / OS backups

Android may include app data in device backups (manufacturer/Google backup), subject to your device settings and Google's / OEM policies. That is outside our control.

4.4 Legal requests

Because we do not host your AmanahKit ledger on our servers, we typically cannot produce your in-app records from our systems. If that changes in a future version, we will update this policy.

5. Data retention and deletion

• Data remains on your device until you delete it, clear app storage, uninstall the app, or overwrite it via restore.
• Uninstalling AmanahKit generally removes local app data (except copies you exported/shared, or OS backups).
• To remove data: delete records/people/businesses in-app, clear app storage in Android Settings, and delete any exported backup/PDF files you saved elsewhere.

6. Children's privacy

AmanahKit is intended for business / adult use (shopkeepers and similar). It is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). Do not knowingly store children's personal data in the app unless you have a lawful basis and parental authority where required.

7. Security

We design AmanahKit to keep data on-device. Protect your phone with a lock screen, and treat exported backups and shared PDFs as sensitive financial documents. No method of storage is 100% secure; you are responsible for physical device access and files you export.

8. International users

Processing occurs on your device where you use the app. If you share or upload files to third-party services, those services may process data in other countries under their policies.

9. Third-party services

The current AmanahKit build is focused on local operation without our cloud backend. If we later add optional cloud sync, analytics, crash reporting, maps, or payment services, we will:

• Name those providers
• Explain what data is sent
• Update this Privacy Policy and, where required, ask for consent

10. Your rights

Depending on your location (e.g. GDPR, UK GDPR, or local law), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data. For AmanahKit, most of these rights are exercised directly on your device (view/edit/delete records; export backup).

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app or our practices change. The “Last updated” date will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy where permitted by law. Material changes that introduce cloud collection will be highlighted clearly.
