Automation Services & Microservices
Event-driven microservices that schedule jobs and keep databases in sync without blocking the main product API.
Architecture & workflows
How this product is built, deployed, and operated in production.
Delivery flow
End-to-end delivery flow for this project, from intake through the final handoff.
Challenge
Long-running automation blocked request workers and failed silently when third-party APIs timed out.
How we did it
Split work into FastAPI services, Dockerized workers, and RabbitMQ queues with retries and dead-letter handling.
Outcome
Jobs became observable and restart-safe, with clearer SLAs for scheduling and database updates.
Tech stack
Step-by-step
- 1
API intake
Client schedules a job via FastAPI
- 2
Queue
Message published to RabbitMQ with payload + priority
- 3
Worker
Docker worker consumes, executes automation
- 4
Persist
Results written to DB; failures go to DLQ
- 5
